Dried Apples, Dry the Apples

Dried Apples, Dry Apples
Kimberley K. Eggleston
The final step is to dry the apples. Place the apple slices on the trays of a food dehydrator, making sure that the pieces don't touch. Set the temperature to about 135°F, and dry for 10-24 hours, until the apples are leathery and no longer sticky. Once the apples have reached your desired state, allow to cool to room temperature. To store the apples, place in airtight plastic bags, and store in a cool dark place for up to nine months.
