How to Make Crispy Chicken Sandwiches

There is no doubt about it. Those fast food restaurant style crispy chicken sandwiches taste good, and they are sort of hard to resist when you are in the mood for one. You may even think that you are saving yourself a few calories over a hamburger by choosing chicken, but the dirty truth is you probably are not! That is of course unless you choose a grilled chicken sandwich and hold the sauce. But we are talking about crispy chicken sandwiches. The ones that are fried. Those sandwiches contain somewhere around 500 calories each with around 20 grams of fat per sandwich! That is very little calorie and fat savings over a quarter pound hamburger.

So, here is your chance to satisfy that craving for a crispy chicken sandwich without splurging too much on your calorie intake. Make your own.

The first thing you will need to do to make your own low calorie crispy chicken sandwich is to gather your ingredients together. For this recipe you will need:

4 3 oz. boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 egg

1/2 cup crushed cornflakes

1/2 cup panko

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp ground black pepper

4 whole wheat hamburger buns

1 large dill pickled, sliced

1/2 cup green lettuce leaves

1/2 cup sliced tomatoes

1/4 cup lowfat mayonnaise
