If you haven't discovered the convenience of freezer meals, you are in for a nice surprise. You can use this list to prepare a whole week's worth of freezer meals in one day, and then enjoy the ease of quick convenient meals for the rest of the week. If you plan to make an entire week of freezer meals, you may choose to prepare and freeze them all in one day. Or, I like to make one meal per day, prepare a double batch, and eat half on the day I prepare it and freeze the other half for later.
This Parmesan chicken is one of the easiest meals to put together, and one of the easiest to finish putting together come dinnertime. You can either cook the chicken before you freeze it, making it easy to pop in the oven for ten minutes the day you want to eat it. Or, you can prepare the chicken and have it ready to cook on the day you want to eat it. Serve it up with a large fresh green salad, and a little side of pasta with marinara sauce.
This is one of my family's favorite recipes. I love that I can take it out of the freezer, pop it in the oven, and an hour later I have a delicious dinner that everyone will eat. Serve it up with crisp salad or seasoned garlic bread.
This teriyaki chicken is a great addition to a low calorie eating plan, coming in at well below 300 calories per serving. On the day you want to serve the teriyaki chicken, toss it in the crockpot. Prepare a pot of steamed rice just before serving, and enjoy.
These tasty meatballs freeze really well! Make them on prep day, toss them in the freezer, and simply reheat on eating day! I like to freeze my sauce right along with the meatballs so I just have one container to dump into a pot when I'm ready to eat them. You really could freeze a bunch of meatballs, and toss them in a pan with a jar of bottled sauce on the day you want to eat them as well. Make a pot of pasta to serve along with the meatballs.
The ultimate comfort food is at your fingertips. And you don't have to rely on the canned variety which is full of sodium and preservatives that you may wish to avoid. Make a batch of this chicken noodle soup, and freeze in small batches for a comforting bowl every now and again, or freeze in a large batch for a warm family meal on a cold night. Do keep in mind that the noodles are not frozen in the soup and will need to be prepared at the time you wish to eat it.
Here's a great freezer meal for a fun Friday night. Sure, you could easily buy a bag of chicken nuggets in the freezer section, but this version is fat healthier and cheaper. We like to serve them up with some oven fries and a hearty serving of fresh fruits or vegetables. We serve ours with a variety of dipping sauces including ketchup, barbecue sauce, or low calorie ranch dressing.
Here's another recipe that freezes really nicely. We like to add lots of chopped vegetables to our sloppy joe mix, making is extra hearty, extra healthy, and it makes it go quite a bit further as well. The mixture is pre-cooked on preparation day, but benefits from a little extra time to simmer on serving day to allow the flavors to really come together. Serve the mixture atop whole wheat hamburger buns, and with a side of low calorie coleslaw and maybe even some baked oven fries.
