Steel Cut Oatmeal Recipe

I like to prepare this before I go to bed so that breakfast is ready when I wake up in the morning. Just be careful not to sleep in or the oats to get overdone!

Ingredients:

  • Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups skim milk
  • 1 cup steel cut oats
  • 1/3 cup golden raisins
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Preparation:

1. In a 4-qt crockpot, combine all ingredients. Cook on low for 7-8 hours, until oats are tender.

Serves 4

I loved this oatmeal recipe so much because it is soooo yummy and so easy. You really just mix up a few ingredients, turn on the crock pot and breakfast is ready when you wake up! I made it when company came to visit (I doubled the recipe) and everyone loved it and asked for more (I should have tripled it)! I am definitely making this again. I made mine with organic almond milk since I have a lactose intolerant child and it turned out great.
