Yes, a healthy portion of pasta can be part of a low calorie diet! The secret is to control portion size, and to top with a sauce that is not dancing in pools of butter or cream. I love this pasta with meat sauce, made with lean meat and lots of fresh veggies.
You can use canned tomatoes in this pasta with meat sauce, in place of the fresh tomatoes, for a little less chopping. As is the case with many recipes using tomatoes, the leftovers are even better the next day.
